text: The walk to the mountain passage between Chingmei and Chentang is drawn out and the part on the other side also seems longer than we remember. Still it was an easy walk of four and a half hours and Hutton must have made a mistake when he gave 16 miles as the distance. It cannot be much more than eight miles. In Chentang we moved back into our old camp and nothing unusual happened during the afternoon. I wrote letters which will go off tomorrow.
