From Chentang we go [] feet down into the valley and then [] feet up to Sangpurr on a very bad path which often requires daring climbs. I can only agree with Hutton that it is one of the worst trails in this mountain range. Fortunately we stay in the shade for almost the entire climb as the slope is oriented towards the north-west. Half past eleven we reach the top where Sangpurr have set up a very good camp with several houses which has a spectacular view to both sides but also is open to winds from all directions and must be dreadfully cold. It is touching that they have even spiked the fence with panjis (14) which here can only be directed against Sangpurr itself. However we will use this camp only on our way back as today we want to get closer to Panso in order to gain time for the conference with Nokhu. |
