After an easy climb of not more than an hour we reach the village Yukao which is on the ridge declining from Mount Yakko towards Panso. (17) We had always imagined it to be a khel of Panso but it seems to be an independent village although it has closest ties to and was founded by Panso. The entrance is strongly fortified. One climbs up steps to the gate between two fences which form a passage. Stepping through the gate I find myself in an open space with a far view into the valley of the Langnyu River and over to the opposite mountain ridge one can see clearly the hills of Pangsha with the stage of our battle. |
