text: Camp Panso 4/12/1936
text: We all enjoyed being able to sleep later for once and not to have to get out of our tents in the grey light of the morning. When we get up a bright sun rises up into a cloudless sky and only the wide valley of the Langnyu River is still filled with fog banks. Now the days are perfect and even around noon the amount of heat and light never gets oppresive but seems rather a welcome gift after the cold of the evenings and nights. With a strong escort Mills, Smith and I visit the village Panso which the Chang usually call Aoshed, a name they sometimes also use collectively for the Kalyo Kengyu.
