reaching Chantongia village in the dark |
text: |
After a while I caught up with Pungwei who was going the same way as the Wanching gaonbura, Apong, (not the dobashi). I stayed with them for a while. After hardly less than four hours I reached Mongsenyimti where I gave myself and the pony a short rest. Then on we went and most of the way I pulled the pony behind me. In front of the Naga villages I passed gaonburas who were expecting me with madhu and salaams. The sun already started to go down when I still was several miles away from Chantongia, and Blackie seemed to be more tired than I was and there was not a chance of riding him. It was nearly dark when we finally arrived in Chantongia. |
