This climb on which one has to go up more than 3500 feet (79) had daunted me ever since I had walked down to the Dikhu from Wanching with Mills. Now it proved to be not at all excessively long and quite a pleasant walk during the incline. Dzeamang from the Bala forewent his breakfast and went ahead with me. He told me that he had recently remarried after getting over his sorrows as a widower. The girl of his choice is like himself of the Ang clan and comes from Chingtang. So far however his marital bliss is still of a slightly difficult nature. His wife still lives with her parents in Chingtang and it is uncertain when she will move in with him for good. At least now he has to build his own house because as a widower he has lived with his brother since his house burnt down. The Bala morung had been rebuilt or rather had been given a new roof. He had taken a wife and now he had received a head. That was reason for him "to jump high into the sky". |
