text: Yesterday we had 18mm. of rain. Quite enough for December. This morning the weather is changeable, brief moments of sunshine are taken over by heavy showers. With Dr Kunde and Ahmed I go to the Thepong where the two undertake blood group investigations. Cases such as where both parents belong to group 4 but the child to group 3 show how uncertain paternity is in Wakching, especially concerning the first child. I use the time in the morung to find out some things about the rebuilding (see notebook 9 p. 43 following).
