text: Today I left Borjan not before 11 am. It was a dull but oppressively hot day and only when we came closer towards Wakching did it get cooler. Not far from the village I shot a pigeon, (an Imperial Pigeon), after first missing another one. As always Wakching is stormy and cold. The gaonburas welcomed me. They were aghast that Kongan had sent two women along as coolies to help with my baggage. In Wakching this would never have happened.
