text: All land is owned privately but a man's clan members have certain claims on his possessions which he can not altogether ignore. For example, all Ang men may cut bamboo on the Ang's land without having to pay for it. They have to ask his permission first but this he hardly ever refuses. In the same way Chingai's clan members may also cut bamboo on his land if he does not object to it.
