migrations of Tanhai peoples |
text: |
When Tanhai was destroyed by Mon, Chi and Totok the people of Tanhai first came to Wakching and wanted to settle down here. The Bala people gave them an area at the edge of the village but that did not seem secure enough to them and they moved to Wanching and across the Dikhu, and they settled in Tamlu where up to then there had been no settlement. One Ang each came with them from Wakching and Wanching. As they feared raids and destruction in Tamlu as a small village, they called in people from everywhere to Tamlu. Indeed many people came (161) from Yungya, Kamahu, Tangsa and smaller villages, and they built the other two morungs. |
