text: In the afternoon I worked with Shankok on the vocabulary of the Wakching language. It seems that it is very expressive in many respects. For example the word for 'bordering' is different depending on whether two fields are next to each other, on a slope or below or above each other. It is now absolutely clear to me that each word has a certain pitch although there is not always the same need to find the correct one as there are many combinations of syllables which have only one meaning.
