text: (38) While Kauffmann lay down I sat in the Ang house and asked all kinds of questions with Chinyang's help who knows his way about in these villages as well. It turned out that the morung with an open front is not restricted to the Wakching group. It also occurs in Mon, Chi, Chen, Choha and Chongwe. (Notebook 10 p. 92). At present in Longkhai there are far fewer girls than men so that many marry women from Punkhung, Tanhai and Hungphoi. Chinyang laughed and said the boys had to resort to their own hands as they did not get any girls. Here too the young people occasionally sleep together in the granary or in the Ang house.
