This year the Oyabu is celebrated slightly later in Oting than in Wakching. There is no fixed date for it. Instead it is held when planting has been finished and the field huts are built. The Ang's field house is of the same type as the Ang of Longkhai's. On the day before the Oyabu the final ceremony in connection with the heads is held. Wakching determines the size of a field by the number of baskets of rice needed for planting. Oting has no measurements for fields. Chingai says they have such an abundance. |
