| text: | I also made closer enquiries about the forest spirit, Yaniulongba, and about the water spirit Niem-niu. Chinyang is convinced that he has heard the former and even seen the latter. The human soul, yaha, literally shadow, is considered to be invisible and not affected by physical death. |
