Dzemang positions himself on the flat stone in the centre of the circle and two older men step up next to him. As the chorus leader he now starts to chant, (87) and after every verse the whole chorus of circling dancers joins in. Chorus leader and chorus rarely sing simultaneously, usually it is an alternating song with verses of approximately identical length. The dancers are divided into three concentric circles, the middle one of which always moves in the opposite direction of the other two. The direction is not always the same but for a certain dance it changes after every verse. |
