(112) As I saw from the Bala, Chingphoi lying in the distance I suddenly thought it would be nice to visit it and I decided to go to Wanching tomorrow and then the next day to Chingphoi where just now the Oulingbu is held. Strangely enough I had always assumed that Chingphoi was similar to Wanching. However they originate from Totok and belong to the Thendu group. They also have facial tattoos. In the afternoon I worked with the gaonburas but without much result. For sometime already the drums can be heard from Wanching. It is astonishing that one can hear every tone clearly over this distance. |
