text: On the way Metlou told me the Bala version of the former disagreement between the morungs. On the whole it was identical to the one I already knew. The main culprits seemed to have been the people of the Shungtahu. Supposedly there was a real battle on the day when the Bala was expelled in which two Bala men were killed by Thepong people. Formerly the Bala was the largest khel, larger than the Thepong is today. The people spread out over the neighbouring villages but by and by many returned.
