text: At the edge of the forest the underbrush is cleared between big trees and rice has been planted although it is under the shade of the branches. The rice is not supposed to grow well on such fields but it is nevertheless a sensible usage of the forest soil for villages which do not have much land. Beyond a depression on a hill we see the houses of Chingphoi lying in the sun. Smaller rice granaries move down the slope.
