The pig is tied up and held by two men to the floor, just in the door. In front of the door five big leaves lay on the ground with the upper side down. This is always done at gennas connected with crops. A small fire is lit behind the door. A man holds a leaf cup with madhu in his hand. Then an older man comes and stakes the pig into the chest with a panji. As the pig doesn't die at once one of the man who had held the pig thrusts the bamboo deeper in. The madhu is poured over the pig (45) then the leaf cup is untied and the leaf put beside the five others. While the pig is still alive one of the men cuts off his tail with a dao. |

The house belongs to Wang-nan-lim. The old man is the clan eldest of Doalim. He gets half of the stomach and the main intestines. A small boy of about 5 amuses himself by treading on the pig. For all gennas for the sickness in the village only the Doalim and Niemling oldest men kill the animals. They get the whole of the animals. (46) Always both clan elders go to make the genna but the Doalim man acts first. |
