Yona's daughter wears them because Yona is originally of Ang clan. His ancestors lived in Tan-yieng (an abandoned site), then went to Punkhung, from where his grandfather came to Wakching. Yona still gets from a tea estate which is on old Tan-yieng land 25 rupees yearly. (Punkhung gets 100 Rs., and Mon 30 Rs.) (134) The Balang morung and Kongan get together Rs 50 for Naginimara fields which are on their lands. |
