text: Once a young Ahom king fled to Wakching and was adopted by one of Dzem-ang's (the Balang Ang's) ancestors. He married an Ang's daughter from Wanching, and took her with him when he went back to Assam. Wanching still get Rs. 140, yearly from Bihuber (a tea estate) as compensation for a yearly tribute paid by the Ahom rajahs "for the Wanching woman".
