(29) The Ang gets one hind-leg of every domestic animal killed by the villagers. When the whole village collectively goes hunting the Ang receives the head and one hind leg of all the game killed. But when a man goes hunting by himself, he doesn't give anything to the Ang. After a fishing expedition the Ang gets a part of the bag. Not only the Ang women but all the women wear red porcupine quills in their ears. (30) But only the Ang girls have tattoos on the back of the hand, on the under arm and upper arm. At present nobody in Punkhung knows the art of tattooing, but one of the Ang's daughters who married the Ang of Oting, is an expert in tattooing and comes to tattoo the Punkhung girls. |
