text: (31) Marriage customs:
text: After marriage the wife first remains in her father's house. When she becomes pregnant she also remains there for the first five months, then she goes to her husband's house. The marriage prices, which are very moderate, vary according to the wealth of the father of the bride. When the Ang's daughter married the Ang of Oting, the latter paid 4 daos, 4 spears, 2 layas. (32) When a man divorces his wife he must pay a fine to the father of his wife. When a woman runs away with another man the latter pays a fine to the injured husband.
