(76) The two Hagang Shopong talks of: Long-tung-wang resides in the direction of Assam. He sits on a throne ("a seat like a Sahib's seat") but this throne is not on the ground but on the water. He has a servant and four enormous dogs with hanging ears. Once he (Ha-yang) suggested to Shopong to kill and eat one of these dogs and to eat it with him, Hayang. But Shopong didn't dare to do it. He also ordered Shopong to climb up to the moon, which Shopong duly did. (77) Long-hung-wang resides in the direction of Chongwe, on a mountain. He has no dogs but also a servant. He is dressed like a Naga and has long hair and a long beard. |
