text: If a Thepong man rapes an unmarried Bala girl, he has not to pay any fine - "for it is the custom". If a woman is married, however, her husband demands a fine and may beat the culprit. The value of the fine is not fixed. If a Thepong man rapes a Thepong girl he must pay a fine to her parents.
