In Linghali on the 4th day another, the Ling-ha-gawem-bu. That night is the Longhabu, - men give to the families of their sisters smoked pork and boiled rice. (cf. p. 40). (At the Oulingbu people give the shares of pork and the rice on the Dzing-wem-bu day (92) in the early morning to their sisters etc. Two days later, on the Ying-shau-bu day in the evening, the people of the sisters' households give some return gifts. These consist only in small pieces of pork and small bundles of rice, this is called Tan-yong-hei-ye-bu. Presents to sister's husband: |

After the rice harvest, Shankok will kill one big pig and four men will carry it to his y. sister's, Meniu's, husband Shanglou's house. He will also prepare one basket of madhu (93) and take it to Shanglou's house. He also will give ten big baskets of rice which his clansmen will carry. Shanglou will provide a small pig and lots of "chali". The two clans eat and drink in Shanglou's house, the women too, but Meniu will not go. |
