On the 7th day of Ponglongpongli is the Beang-wa-dzak-bu; a man of Shayonghu clan (Aukh.), not necessarily Yongmek, announces it the day before. On the 7th day Yongmek goes to (94) fields and brings some "lai-shak" leaves (a vegetable) to the genna place at the Aukh. path and fastens them to a bamboo. The next day is genna. |

In Ponglongpongli is the Ponglongpongbu (on the 23rd day of the month). The Niengbas eat one pig of the Aukheang path, some people kill pigs for their fields and their houses and sell part of the meat. The men who kill pigs remain in the village. Other people go to the fields. (95) In the evening of the Ponglongpongbu the smaller boys of the morung have a fight for a piece of wood (a fairly large cutting of a branch about at thick as a man's arm). (This fight is called shang-dzetebet-bu.) |
