Shankok gives to the households of the half sister's of his grandfather (ie. to Liphung, Meniu and the son of Shuidzing (dead)) gifts of rice and pork at Oulingbu. When Meniu died Shankok was given one laya (this death due is called "meklou"). When Yongyo, Shuidzing's son dies, Shankok will also receive one laya. For these women were married "from his house". He gives them two parcels of white (157) rice (each made of 2 seers of chaul) and four pieces of pork each. To his own sisters he gives much more. He will receive layas at the death of Liphung and Meniu and of their first born children, but not for their other children or grandchildren. If Shankok's sister had a son he will continue to give shares to him and where her daughter marries he will give her shares too (in whatever morung she lives) even at Liphung's lifetime, but only for three years. Shankok receives one laya of (158) the marriage price, but nothing at the time of her death. At the death of his sister, Shankok will kill one chicken and put it to her corpse platform saying: [konyak] "may the worms eat it instead of you". |
