| text: | A brilliant morning followed by a sunny and very hot day. We left for the village before 8 am and sweated up through the jhums. On the road below the village are two small shops, one owned by a Zemi and one by a Bengali with a Zemi wife. Nearby is a hut in a field which is the permanent home of a Zemi from Boroniuglo, who was a sepoy in the Police and has a Zemi wife. The gaonburas allowed him to build a hut on Laisong land and to cultivate here. |
