(39) We also talked about marriage. There is a custom of paying a bride price, - up to Rs 600/- at present. Divorce and remarriage is possible, but not frequent. A cuckolded husband cannot - it appears - demand compensation from his wife's lover. Yet, the men said that fines are imposed in disputes over women. Clearly more information is required.
