Nothing in the Christian village suggests modernization, except that there is no longer a morung. The Christians were converted here when they had already moved to this site.

I asked when they had seen the last European. It was Perry, S.D.O. of Haflong in 1942-43. Soon Europeans will be mythical figures unknown to the younger people.
