We drove to the bungalow of the Additional Deputy Commission, M.T.C.K. Lhota, a Naga with a pleasant English speaking Lhota(?) wife. He is I.A.S. and belongs to the U.P. service, he is lent to Nagaland.

He welcomed me very cordially and after tea I was shown to his guest house, to a well-furnished room marked "For V.I.P.s". There is electricity and modern plumbing. Only in the dinner was there a flavour of Naga tradition.
