text: | We stopped when overtaking a colourful group of men. They were from Totok. Many had still the face tattoos of headhunters. I told them that I had been to Wakching and that then Chui and Totok were at war. A loquacious old man laughingly said that he was caught and sent to Kohima, and that he remembered me as the man who arrested him. Presumably he mistook me for Mills. But he was good tempered about it and asked for cigarettes. |
