text: After breakfast we went to Longkhai, the village I remembered as one of the most colourful. A branch road negotiable for jeeps went right up to the village and this saved us a hot climb. But the village was a sad disappointment. Only the Ang's house was - or appeared - the same and there was still the Ang's stone seat in front of it. But close by is a modern, tin-roofed school building, and in place of the morung containing the beautiful carving, is a ruin without walls which cows use as a shelter.
