text: After crossing the river a long and steep climb began. It lead through old jhums and there was no shade. I took off my bush-shirt and walked in shorts. In this way I profitted at least from the slight breeze which prevailed at open places.
text: After perhaps an hour's climb we reached the height of Yoting, and saw the village on a nearby spur. But we decided to defer the visit until the way back.
text: Instead we continued slightly less steeply and in one place we passed a muddy pool with a group of buffaloes resting in the mud. There are many signs (75) of large numbers of cattle, and Tang seems to be rich in animals.
text: At last we saw the village on a wooded hill-top, the roofs emerging from among the trees.
