new school at Longsa; poor road near Longsa; request to appoint a dobashi |

To Longsa. I visited the School, a new one, joint Ao and Sema, each reading in their own language. The Sema pupils come from Sapotimi, about a mile away, but their attendance is even better than the Aos when the proportionate size of the village is considered. The School was opened last February and so far has been doing well. The Sub-divisional Officer should provide a black-board. |

The road from the bridge up towards Longsa is bad in places owing to a water channel having formed itself down the middle of the path. This should be obviated by digging a channel along the inside edge of the road sloping the surface both ways from the centre. One Zekeche or some such appeared from Alapfumi for a gun. He said the Sub-divisional Officer had promised to appoint him as a Dobhashi, which I don't believe. He is 3 times renegade and a bumptious fellow in spite of it, having had promotion in the Labour Corps thrust upon him when Heloshe fell sick. |
