Kiyezu's need for more land due to success of colony; new villages of Ivikhu and Nikokhu |

To Rangazumi (Kiyezu-Nagami). The road was good except for a mile or two below Keruma, probably a tat could be taken along it. I went into the question of Kiyezu's land. I think the village certainly has not got enough. On the Chekrama side some members of the village have paid rent to Chekrama and cultivated in the forbidden mile between the 19th and 20th mile stones. I will deal with this, but it suggests that the permanent boundary might be fixed at or near the 19th mile since Chekrama need that land so little that they can afford to let it to Kiyezu. It would however only encourage land grabbing if I gave it to Kiyezu now. On the way I got a good sight of the new villages of Ivikhu and Nikokhu. Their boundaries should give no trouble as they are each on separate little blocks of their own. |

Kiyezu's village is far the most successful Sema colony I have seen of those put out near the plains. The village is healthy with plenty of children, the numbers are increasing and everyone is prosperous. |
