text: To Mao to meet the Political Agent, but heard after arriving that he had had car trouble at Kerong and would not reach Mao. I saw the Executive Engineer on his way back from Manipur and talked to him about Motor rules and other things. Apparently this E. is still holding them up as he now wishes cart traffic stopped in the daytime. In the Manipur State the P.A. has already put them into force.

text: The P.M.S.D. turned up from Maram in the morning and went back in his car which he had left here while touring in the Mao area. The P.A. arrived late in the evening, his car having broken down.
