Angami opium users at Zubza; sub-division order that opium-eaters be turned out of their villages |
text: |
To Kohima. At the time of leaving Zubza two Angamis came to me for passes for opium, as the Mahaldar in Kohima is not allowed to sell to anyone not on his list except on a pass from Deputy Commissioner. It is the first time I have struck cases of Angamis up here using opium. |

[Note: I have since learnt that it is about two years since Angamis working on the road started taking to opium.] |

One was a Khonoma man, the other a Kohima man - both working on the road and living at present at Zubza. I propose now extending to the Angami country the orders in force in the Sub-division under which any person who eats opium is liable to be turned out of his village. |
