text: Halted at Phat. A man came to ask for medicine for influenza. Apparently 3 deaths have already occurred this year, and another is imminent.
text: This village also wants loans. It had all its crop eaten on it by rats and elephants and only 10 households out of 50 got any harvest worth speaking of.
text: Ageratum is very bad everywhere here. Since the 15th I have marched through solid walls of it. They say it came in only 5 or 6 years ago and that jhuming is impossible where it is once established. It is very difficult to clear the ground and even when cleared ageratum comes up faster than paddy or anything else, and no other plant can grow in among it.
text: The Mauzadar of Rio, North Cachar Hills, came in for inter district cases.
