text: Having rained all night it was still pouring in the morning and did not abate enough to break up camp till 10.30 am. Everything a sea of mud. I had intended to go to Bolbung fields but the distance was considerable and it was too late to get there when the rain stopped so I decided to make for Lakema Inspection Bungalow instead. As soon as we started it came on to rain again and the path was very bad down or up one torrent bed after another, everything swimming wet and the stone only less slippery than the logs. Ultimately I reached Lakema at about 5.0 pm and my coolies got in at 7.0.
