Wokha water tank; game season dates; Wokha muharrir moves without orders |

To Wokha, changing coolies at Koio, where I did not stop. The tank in the Wokha station has never been full since it was emptied. If the S.D.O. can arrange to have the outlet cemented, which is what is required, according to the Muharrir, I will supply the 50 coolies needed to repair the edges and put a drain round it to carry away the surface water immediately above it. Niroyu and Longsa supplied coolies short to the A.R. recently and they can do the work as a punishment. |

Ranchamo suggests that the opening and closing of the game seasons should be notified to him by parwana as they occur. This is sound, and should be done for Henima and Phekrokejima as well. |

I observe that the muhurrir has shifted his quarters across the road to a new site "for fear of the tigers" that haunt the fringe of the station. I suppose they won't be able to cross the 50 yards or so that separate the new site from his old and as he has moved without any orders from the S.D.O. on to a site that has I think, been previously reserved because the tank is just below, he may get into trouble with the S.D.O., though I fancy the tank must already be more or less polluted by Nepalis and will be made little worse by Tara Charan. All the same he had no business to move without orders. |

The Wokha I.B. compound much improved but I fear the grass put down will die in the cold weather. Many crops damaged by hail on the night of the 2nd. |
