request for use of Khezami language in schools |

To Khezakenoma. A short march but stiff involving a long and steep climb from the river to the village. One of the Gaonburas wanted me, or anyone else suitable to learn the Khezami tongue and make school books in Khezami instead of Angami, which perhaps was propounded to disarm me in advance in case I was disposed to criticise the Gaonburas because the Angami school was a failure. Very cold after sunset and faced with the usual chaos between the inside of a forty pound tent and a seat by the fire with wind continually changing quarter and blinding one with smoke. |
