text: To Chinglong. A really fine and hot day. Chinglong seemed very nervous and apprehensive, which is not unnatural in the view of the circumstances under which their village was last visited. Otherwise they were quite friendly. All the heads in all these villages from Anfang on were hidden before we arrived, for fear they would be collected and burnt as those at Wanching and Wakching were in 1913 - a wicked sin.
