text: Halted Mokokchung. Very busy with preparations of various sorts for the second part of the tour and with one or two files awaiting me.
text: A large number of Gaonburas in from all parts to see me. The Semas say that owing to the hail-storm early in September, and to untimely rain they have lost most of their crop. Most of the Aos, however, have done pretty well, though not their nearer plains. About lunch time they sent down to tell me that Miran had died having waited to see me first.
text: Mills' foot very bad with septic leech-bites, and it is doubtful whether he will be able to come on on the 4th or not. If he can't I shall take Pawsey instead.
