text: 1st to 4th
text: At Mokokchung, very busy with all sorts of arrangements until the 4th. On the 3rd a wire came from Commandant that all the signallers left in Kohima had gone to Shillong so that no communication could be kept up with my party - I was very much annoyed, as for 10 days it will be the only form of communication possible, and it is really absurd to send all the Battalion signallers away in the touring season. The four with me might almost as well have gone too, as their communication station will be two days by runner from Mokokchung. I wired to the commandant who recalled some signallers from Shillong.
text: I was to have started on the 4th, but the 3rd was very wet, and as the morning of the 4th was very bad, I put it off for a day in the hopes of better weather.
