To Nerhama. The old Muharrir Rikma Ram Garo came to see me. He is past work and as his Military Police pension is only Rs.7/12/- (including temporary increment) he cannot afford to retire as he has a wife and four children. Since taking his pension from the Military Police he has worked as a Muharrir for over 27 years and wants to know whether nothing can be done for him, the service as a muharrir being non-pensionable, of course. There ought to be some regular provision for cases of this sort. |

One Hluchau a miserable old woman said that Capt. Berkeley had refused her exemption from revenue, though she was a pauper. She belongs to Hlusah's khel. Ketsore, who is blind in one eye, was the dobashi with the Extra Assistant Commissioner. He will report why Capt. Berkeley refused exemption. If does not know he will go and enquire if the case is a suitable one or not. |
