To Tseminyu. On the way I was stopped at Chichama for all sorts of petty things. Ruusewu in Kruzuzu's khel applied for exemption. A dobashi must enquire into the case. He had better go without warning, and see how she lives. Hozu is appointed a Gaonbura in place of Lhusi who retires and is exempted. At Tseminyu I got in early and spent the whole of the rest of the day over interminable squabbles about nothing. The Rengma never comes to litigate in Kohima and when anyone comes his way he feels it up to him to make the most of the opportunity, only he can never remember his real grievance so invents one instead. The real one is remembered next day when he catches one in the road too late to make it possible to hear the case. |
