text: Moluram wants to know what has happened to his petition for increased pay, and what is to be done about the pound. At present there is no herdsman as one cannot be got on the pay offered, and the pound is getting out of repair. He also wants 10 days casual leave as soon as a chaukidar is available.
text: I want to know what money there is for improving Dimapur this year, as it is time we started on a pukha road to the Mussalmen Bazar. Also there is still some golmal over Sona Miya's house. I want to know likewise what has happened about the well. Rahamat Ullah is clamouring to get it back, but I am inclined to think that Manigal would take a contract if the rates be increased.
text: At Nichuguard Kailam complains that his pay last April was cut (Rs.5/- plus Rs.5/-) for the same amount of rice.
text: Puniram wants powder for the Government gun at Nichuguard, which he can have - 1 patta's allowance. He will pay for it (it can be cut from his pay).
text: Mezifema complains that the Oil Co.'s Contractors are cutting their bamboos (I gather it is Sadaram) without licence from them or from me. Also that the police make them bury corpses on genna days.
text: I see summons have been issued for the Piphima Gate case. I had though it moribund.
text: Reached Kohima about 3.45 p.m.
