11/1/1926 To Pedi. Some optimists of Nakama tried to revive a land dispute with Tehema which was settled over a month ago. I caused their presentation chicken to fly down the khud. This is a very unpopular ceremony - except, perhaps, with chickens. |

The Kenoma school has dwindled to five irregular scholars. It will be closed on February 1st. and I will start a new one where it is wanted. Pyangsa, Tofima and Chedema have all asked for schools, but I have not had the list I asked for in my last tour diary. |

There is a very bad slip in the 30th mile and it is obviously going to go on slipping. There are four turns of zigzag path and I am inclined to think it would be sound to drop part and take a fresh alignment off the point of the top or the bottom and bring the path down or up in another place where the soil is firmer. A retaining wall at the top has been built in part of shale instead of stone, which must be brought from somewhere else if necessary. |
